Mary Bruehl's Mission

Mary Bruehl has made criminal defense her mission for 26 years.  She views her role as a criminal defense attorney as a special duty to justice, to protect the citizen against the powers of the government. Defense Attorneys are the law enforcers of our judicial system - they hold the prosecution to the highest standards of proof.  The freedoms we all enjoy would be at risk if criminal defense attorneys did not challenge, insist and require the government adhere to the constitutional rights of the individual.  Criminal defense attorneys are often referred to as the “police of the police”.

Over her legal career Mary Bruehl has developed a respected reputation among judges, prosecutors, and law enforcement.  She has handled multiple criminal defense cases, and has been lead counsel in many jury trials and hundreds of bench trials.  She is viewed as a competent Oklahoma criminal attorney earned through her tireless work fighting for the rights of the accused.

Ms. Bruehl has trained in the same program as Oklahoma law enforcement in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing.  She has also successfully completed a Drug Recognition Expert course (DRE).

Apellate Practice

In addition to her trial work, Mary Bruehl has had an aggressive appellate practice, having personally handled many appeal cases.  She is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and has practiced in Municipal Court, District Court and Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.

•  Writing and presenting Appeals.

• Representation of Felony and Misdemeanor offenders before the Court of Criminal Appeals.
